What adult ADHD can look like

This often looks different than it did in childhood, and it's frequently missed because of that.

Focus

Trouble focusing

Starting tasks easily, but struggling to finish them or stay on track.

Disorganization

Chronic disorganization

Losing track of things, missing deadlines, or feeling perpetually behind.

Time Blindness

Time blindness

Consistently misjudging how long things take, or losing track of time entirely.

Emotional Overwhelm

Emotional overwhelm

Big emotional reactions, or heightened sensitivity to criticism and rejection.

Procrastination

Procrastination

Putting things off despite genuinely wanting to get them done.

Shame

Self-critical shame

A running narrative that you're just not trying hard enough.

How therapy helps

Practical systems, and a break from the shame

Using CBT, we'll build practical strategies for focus, organization, and follow-through, and just as importantly, work through the self-criticism and shame that often builds up around ADHD over time. This isn't a diagnostic evaluation; it's ongoing support for living well with how your brain works.

  • CBT-based systems for focus, organization, and follow-through
  • Support for the emotional side of ADHD, not just the practical side
  • Telehealth-only, fitting around a schedule that's often already a challenge to manage
  • A space free of the shame that often comes with ADHD
Good to know

Common questions

Do I need a formal ADHD diagnosis to start?

No. Many clients come in with a lifelong sense that something's been harder than it should be, without ever having a formal diagnosis. That's a valid reason to start, and we can talk through next steps together.

Is this a diagnostic evaluation?

No. This is therapy and ongoing support, not a formal diagnostic assessment. If you're looking for a diagnostic evaluation specifically, we can talk about it during your consultation so you know what to expect.

Can therapy help alongside medication?

Yes. Therapy and medication address different parts of ADHD, and many clients find the two work well together. This isn't medication management, just the therapy side of that support.

What does payment look like?

Renew Counseling is private-pay, with sessions at $150 for 50 minutes. A superbill can be provided on request if you'd like to seek out-of-network reimbursement from your insurer. Full details are on the Rates page.
