Meet your therapist

Hi, I'm Stephanie.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been practicing since 2020. I started Renew Counseling to offer a space that feels genuinely safe and non-judgmental, somewhere you can explore what you're thinking and feeling without pressure to have it all figured out.

My approach is rooted in empathy and active listening, and I work with each client to shape sessions around their own goals rather than a fixed script. I've practiced across a range of settings over the years, and I bring that same flexibility into private practice, with sessions grounded in CBT and adjusted to what actually helps you.

Much of my work has been with people navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions and helping them recognize their own strengths, build self-awareness, and move past the patterns that have been holding them back. My goal is always the same: creating a space that feels trusting, accepting, and built around what you need.

Outside of session hours, I'm usually planning my next trip, buried in a book, or testing a new recipe in the kitchen — and I'm a pretty unapologetic animal lover.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

What happens in the first session?

I'll spend the time getting to know what brought you in, your history, and what you're hoping will be different. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to. It's a conversation, not an intake form read aloud.

Is this therapy in-person or telehealth?

Renew Counseling is telehealth-only. All sessions take place by secure video for clients located anywhere in South Carolina or Pennsylvania.

What's your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less notice may be subject to a fee. Details are covered in the intake paperwork.

How long does therapy typically take?

It varies widely by the individual and their goal. Some clients come for a focused handful of sessions around a specific issue while others prefer ongoing, longer-term support. I'll check in regularly on what's working.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes, with the standard legal exceptions (risk of harm to yourself or others, or abuse of a child, elder, or dependent adult). This is covered in full during your first session.
